Pilates for me started out as another new exercise to try. I’ve always been an avid walker and I’d been taking HIIT, Spin, and strength training classes when I signed up for a Pilates class. It did not take long before I was hooked! I loved how my body felt, less joint pain and muscle tightness, less creaking and popping. I also felt more focused when I needed to and able to relax when I had free time. As an Aveda trained Esthetician, the mind body connection was familiar and interesting to me. Needless to say, it did not take long before I was signed up for Pilates instructor training. I have been fortunate to be able to train with a nationally recognized Balanced Body Trainer here in Michigan. In my first class, she talked about aging gracefully, and being able to move with ease, economy, and efficiency. I knew I wanted to share that philosophy with my community. There are so many different levels of practice in both Mat and Reformer classes, that Pilates can be right for any fitness level. We all have just one body on our journey, and we should feel good traveling in it!
